The ACCANTO8 2.4 GHz omni-directional antenna can help boost the wireless signal strength and range of a security camera. Omni-directional means that it will boost your wireless signal in all directions. In fact, it has a full 360° signal spread and a 10° vertical spread.
Clear line-of-sight
A clear line of sight between the antenna and the wireless camera is necessary to ensure the ACCANTO8 provides effective signal strength. Please note that objects such as concrete or trees can reduce the strength of your signal.
Omni-directional
Wireless cameras are very convenient to move around your property as you wish thanks to their lack of video cables. If you have a wireless camera that you like to move from time to time then this is the antenna booster for you.
Typical installations
The omni-directional antenna can be installed in several locations, such as a roof, fence, deck, or the side of your house. A mast (not included) may be needed to mount the camera in a location that provides a clear line of sight.
Easy installation
Once you have chosen a location and assembled the ACCANT08 omni-directional antenna, you will need to connect it to the specific receiver for the wireless camera that you need to boost the signal for. This is accomplished by using the provided 20ft antenna extension cable.
Combine with directional antenna
You can use the omni-directional antenna along with a directional panel antenna (Lorex model: ACCANTD9) to increase the range of a specific camera. Simply connect the directional panel antenna to the camera using an SMA extension cable. A clear line-of-sight between the directional and omni-directional antennas is highly recommended in order to maximize signal strength.
